Chapter 1 “I thought you knew, you said you did!” Rachel screamed, obviously furious. She turned and scowled at the girl behind her. “You said you did!” She repeated, glaring at the young girl, who was sitting uncomfortably behind her. The girl looked up. She had blonde hair, which flowed gracefully to her waist, and dark blue eyes. “You’re meant to tell me the truth, you’re my sister, Daisy” Rachel whispered. Rachel did not look at all like her sister. She had dark brown hair, which reached just above her shoulders, and bright hazel eyes. “I did know” Daisy said quietly. Rachel looked up shocked. “Why should you go if i can’t? So I hid the letter, so you couldn’t go, so i could instead. But no Mommy’s little girl found out!” Daisy sneered. Rachel stood there shocked. “I hate you!” Rachel screamed. “You do?” Daisy asked upset. “No, but i won’t forget this!” Rachel spat, and with that, she left the room, leaving her sister on the verge of tears.
Rachel awoke to the soft clatter of a shutting compartment door. When her eyes were completely open, she was embarrassed to see a red-haired boy sitting directly infront of her. She turned to the right and saw a boy with messy black hair and circular glasses. She blushed. “Sorry,” the red-haired boy said “There was no other compartment.” Rachel smiled. “It’s ok, I’m Rachel Tonks” The boys smiled.
“Hi, I’m Ron Weasley, and that’s...” The red haired boy began. “Harry Potter.” Rachel finished. “My sister told me about you” She said turning to Harry. They sat chatting until the train came to a halt. As they left the platform they saw a large castle behind a vast lake. They were lead to the vast lake and put into boats. Harry, Ron and Rachel got in a boat with a boy with a toad called Neville. Harry jumped straight into the boat and Ron and Rachel followed. The boats were calmly sailing across the water, when suddenly the boat jerked and Rachel fell out, straight into the cold water. She felt two hands pulling her upwards and back into the boat. It was Harry and Ron. She shivered as someone’s coat was draped around her shoulders. “Thanks you guys,” She said as they slowly approached the castle.
As they entered a castle, they were all lead towards two large wooden doors and stopped out side them by a stern looking woman, with her hair in a tight bun. “Hello first years, this is Hogwarts. You will be lead to the front of the hall, where you will sit on a stool and be sorted, it will be quick and there will be nothing to worry about.” The stern woman said. They were all leading in when the teacher stopped Rachel “Why are you wet?” She asked. Rachel stuttered “err, well, um…” Then Ron jumped in. “The boat rocked and she fell out!” The teacher looked down at the pair, and with a swish of her wand Rachel was dry. “Very well, hurry up” she said pointing at the crowd “you’ll be late!” Ron and Rachel rushed into the hall. The hall was filled with the echoes of awestruck first years, chattering about the ceiling and other things. The teacher stood at the front and explained the sorting process. She distributed some reassuring words, before beginning. Soon it was Harry’s turn. His turn was longer than everyone else’s. It seemed harder for the hat to sort him but suddenly it screamed “Gryffindor!” The Gryffindor table erupted with screams as he sat down. Then it was Rachel’s turn. The hat had trouble choosing between, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. “Gryffindor!” It screamed, and again the house roared. Ron gave her a wink and a thumbs up as she sat down by a curly haired girl. Then it was Ron’s turn. Before it even touched his head, the hat screamed “Gryffindor!” The house table cheered yet again.
Soon enough the sorting was over and everyone was seated, except Ron who was choosing where to sit. “Soooo” said the girl by Rachel, “Who was that boy, who winked at you? My, my Ronald Weasley, what a choice.” She taunted. Rachel punched her playfully. “Don’t tease me, Hayles; he’s someone I just met. I will tell mom” Rachel warned. Hayley looked quite like Rachel. She also had dark brown hair, yet it was curly and her eyes weren’t hazel but Green. “You’ve got a boyfriend!” Hayley chanted, laughing. “For you information,” Rachel said “Ronald Weasley isn’t my boyfriend, I just happen to like him a bit more than usual!” From behind her, there was a slight cough. “It’s not, it can’t be?” Rachel moaned to Hayley. Rachel turned, and sure enough stood there was Ron; he’d heard every word she’d said…

Chapter 2 Rachel blushed a violent before rapidly jumping up. She fell over the bench and landed on the floor and blushed even redder. Rachel jumped up, as many slytherins sat sniggering at her. She muttered an inaudible sentence to Ron, before quickly leaving the hall. Dumbledore, after watching the embarrassing event, walked down and whispered to Harry,
“I think you better go and check how Miss Tonks is doing Harry” Harry nodded and left the hall in search of Rachel.
Hayley looked awkwardly at Ron, as he sat in Rachel’s unoccupied seat. There had been silence between them for a while until George turned up. “Well hello there Hayley, been acquainted with my charming brother, Ickle Ronniekins?” George said, laughing. Ron scowled at the pair.
Finally, Harry caught up with Rachel. “You Ok?” Harry asked her, as he put his hand gently on her shoulder. She spun round. He could see her eyes were red and blotchy. Harry was surprised; he didn’t think she would be the sort of person to cry. Suddenly out of nowhere she blurted it all out. About not thinking she was in the right house, having Ron over hear her, falling over, embarrassing herself. By the time she had finished, was crying and was being comforted by Harry, and was resting in an embrace. Ron had now come looking for them. He saw them and his ears turned red, he didn’t believe what he was feeling; anger and jealousy. Rachel lifted her head from Harry’s shoulder and saw Ron. Her eyes grew bigger and she gasped quietly. She jumped away from Harry, who had also noticed Ron and had, like Rachel, turned red. She turned and took refuge in the girls’ bathroom.
Ron and Harry looked awkwardly at each other and were saved by a crowd of people leaving, and going to their common rooms. They followed the crowd. They were amazed by the moving staircases. When they finally reached the common room, they were surprised to see Rachel, with her big sister and Ron’s two older brothers. They smiled as the two boys approached, and Rachel smiled cheekily. Ron and Harry eyed the four people standing there looking suspiciously cheeky. Rachel smiled and hugged Hayley, before moving over to hug Fred and George. Ron’s jaw dropped as Rachel hugged Harry, and left the common room.
“What the hell just happened?” Ron asked, looking hurt. Hayley, George and Fred looked at each other smiling.
“Well,” George began “ Rachel got the impression you didn’t like her,” Ron swore under his breath.
“ Ahh so you do like her?” Fred asked, teasingly. Yet again, Ron’s ears turned a violent red. He swiftly surrendered to the dormitories. Harry was then bombarded with questions from Fred, George and Hayley, about what had happened to Rachel. He answered them all accurately, and then gave a detailed account of what Rachel had said. They all smiled. “What” Harry asked, confused, looking at them all.
“ Oh nothing” The all said. George turned to Hayley and she whispered in his ear. Fred looked suspicious. Hayley then also left the common room, and so did Harry. Fred was left alone. Finally he went up, after guzzling his drink.
The next morning, Rachel was not seen in the hall, or in the common room. The first time Harry and Ron saw her was in their first class. As far as they could see, she was eagerly competing with the frizzy haired girl for the teacher’s attention. She sat next to Harry in most lessons, but in one lesson Ron had been seated next to her, which caused an awkward silence between them throughout that lesson.
“I’m taking it that you have studied a lot, before you came?” Harry asked her at lunch. She smiled,
“I thought you’d assume that, but no, I’ve not even read any of the books yet, I should really get round to that though!” Ron looked stunned, “you haven’t read any of those books?” He said exasperated. Rachel smiled warmly at Ron,
“ Oh so you’re talking to me?” He smiled,
“’K then” he answered, grinning from ear to ear. Harry let out a sigh of relief,
“ So, now were all on speaking terms-“ a blonde boy walking past and calling Rachel over interrupted him.
“Excuse Me,” She said politely. Ron looked confused and annoyed,
“Why’s she talking to Malfoy?” Rachel returned and Ron immediately asked her,
“Why were you talking to Malfoy?” Rachel looked at Harry, and mouthed,
“Does he hate him?” Harry nodded. Rachel turned towards Ron
“He’s my cousin.” She said, looking pale. Ron looked utterly amazed, but yet again yet another boy who came over to Rachel and interrupted them. He kissed her hand. “Lee Jordan?” Ron said amazed.
Rachel flushed a dark red and was lead over to the other side of the room. Where she talked quietly to Lee. Fred and George bowed to them as they returned to the table. “Sir, Madam, Your seats” Fred said, in a fake posh accent. “Thanks mate” Lee said to Fred as they sat next to each other.
“ Seriously a third year!” Ron said. Rachel turned to Ron, and smiled. Lee, Fred and George stood up. Lee kissed Rachel on the cheek and left, leaving a surprised Harry, flushed Rachel and a furious Ron.

Chapter 3
Later that same day, Fred came over and grabbed Harry by the wrist and brought him towards Hayley and George. Harry struggled free.
“What’s wrong?” Harry asked, looking nervously towards Ron and Rachel who were stood in silence, until Lee came over to the pair.
“Well we thought you should know what’s going on between Rachel and Lee,” Hayley Began.
“Yeah!” George said.
Fred carried on. “Well, I heard what happened from Hayley and I thought Ron liked Rachel by the way he looked at her, so I thought, why doesn’t Rachel hang out with Lee more to test my theory!”
“Actually it was my idea!” George said sulkily.
Harry was stunned. “You are pure evil!”
“Thank you” The trio said simultaneously.
Ron walked over to the four, leaving Rachel in a animated conversation with Lee. Once he was standing by Harry, they all turned and looked at Rachel and Lee. Rachel was in fits of laughter, and it looked like Lee was telling a Joke. Harry glanced at Ron saw how hurt he looked.
Later, Harry was tapped on the shoulder, while he was in the common room. It was Rachel.
She looked worried “You know the umm.. How do I phrase this? Emmm, Well, I err need you to emmm, tell Ron about the thingy and emmm, you do know what I mean right?” Rachel asked
Harry understood what she meant “Ok, I’ll tell him” Harry replied.
Ron came in the room and walked over to them. Rachel scampered away into the dorms.
So Harry told Ron everything. By the time he had finished Ron was furious. Hayley, Fred and George entered the room. Ron ran over to Hayley.
“YOU b***h!!!” Ron screamed, “YOU DID IT FOR A JOKE!”
Hayley looked shocked, but knew what he meant. “It was George’s idea!” Hayley said.
“NO IT WAS YOURS!” Ron screamed. He kicked her and left the room.
“THIS IS YOUR ENTIRE FAULT” Hayley screamed at George.
“No, Don’t blame me!” George said.
“ GREAT IDEA GEORGE! MAKE EVERYONE HATE ME!!!” Hayley screamed before leaving in tears.
It was awkward at the table the next morning. Hayley wasn’t talking to George, Ron wasn’t talking to anyone but Fred and Harry. They ate their food in silence. Hayley got up and left. Rachel’s eyes were all blotchy, she was stabbing her food and not talking.
“You ok?” Harry asked.
“Yeah” Rachel said before looking over at Ron and leaving, wiping her eyes.
Ron looked up, he really missed the cheerful Rachel. But he wouldn’t show that. Rachel stood up as Lee entered the room, she smiled at him and he gave her a friendly hug. Ron looked up, he wanted to be Lee. His eyes followed her as she left the room alone. About 10 minutes later the owl post arrived, and Ron was especially surprised to see that he had got a small letter. Everyone was engorged in today’s daily prophet, so he slid the note onto his lap and read it.
Dear Ron,
Meet Me at the Black Lake Tonight At 10.00
This isn’t a joke; please do not show this note to anyone.
Please come alone. I will not do anything to you.
Ron recognised the handwriting, but wasn’t sure where he recognised it from. I need to go… He thought, This seems important.

Chapter 4
It was 10.00 and Ron dragged on his woolly jumper and tiptoed out of the common room. He was leaving the common room when he heard quiet laughing outside, and he hid behind a tapestry as a couple walked in. He recognised one of them as George and the only identification of the girl he had was curly brown hair. He darted out of the room when they were out of sight. Ten Minutes later, after dodging Filch, Hiding from Snape and running across the wet grass Ron finally arrived at the Lake. He saw nobody, and sat down in the shadow of a tree. He peered at his watch. 21.56, He was early. As his watch clicked onto 21.01 he stood up. Who ever it was they were either not coming or this was a joke. Walking slowly away Ron heard a quiet laugh, as well as a quiet shuffling behind him. He turned to see the shadowy figure of a girl.
“Going so soon? Please don’t, we really need to talk.”
Ron froze. It was Rachel’s voice. The voice he had been longing to hear all day, but sadly the sound wasn’t a happy one. He carried on walking.
“Ron, please. I’m really sorry. Really, really sorry. I know I’ve screwed up and I’m sorry. Ron listen! I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, I really didn’t but, I was sure that you, that you…”
“That what Rachel?” Ron inquired sarcastically, “That I thought you were a dirty cow or something?”
“ I thought you’d think I was a freak, I thought you wouldn’t like me anymore, I thought that we wouldn’t be friends anymore, all because of a stupid plan concocted by your stupid brothers and my stupid sister …” Rachel murmured, almost in tears.
Ron walked slowly over to Rachel, and saw that she had one silent tear running down her cheek. He wiped it off.
“We’ll always be friends Rach, Always, even if you do like me more than usual.” Ron said teasingly.
Rachel looked up at Ron and hugged him. She was glad they’d always be friends, even if they wouldn’t be anything more.
“I’m glad that you forgive me, and I am over the moon that we’ll always be friends.” Rachel whispered.
“Me too.” Ron said, looking upwards. “Look at the stars, they’re almost as beautiful as you.”
Rachel blushed profusely, even though Ron never saw her. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance that they could be a little bit more than friends. Then from out of the darkness they saw a tall figure wandering over to them. As the figure got closer, they could see the outline of a long silvery beard, tucked into a belt and half moon spectacles perched onto a long pointy nose.

Chapter 5
Meanwhile back in the castle, Harry was wondering where Ron had disappeared to. He saw “Hermione” the frizzy haired girl, coming down the stairs and asked her where Rachel as. He was surprised to hear that she had disappeared too.
“She left the dormitory at about 9.30 and your other friend left about 5 minutes later. She had a coat on, and he had a woolly jumper on, so it would appear that they are outside somewhere”
“Thanks,” Harry said, grabbing his coat to leave.
“Oh No, you’re not going anywhere! Are you determined to get all of Griffindor’s house points deducted?”
Harry shot an angry look towards her, and twisted the handle, then left the common room.
“No, get back!” She said rushing after him. Before she could return into the room, the portrait swung shut and the fat lady disappeared to another painting.
“Oh look what you’ve done now!” Hermione squealed, “I’m locked out, and I’m cold.”
“Here” Harry threw his coat at her “Use this,” and he turned and started heading outside.
“I’m not staying here alone, wait, I’m coming” Hermione wailed running after him.
When they finally managed to arrive outside Harry saw Ron. He was standing with Rachel, and he was standing with a tall, elderly man with a long silvery beard and half moon spectacles.
“What are they doing with the head teacher?” Hermione asked, “Were bound to have lost all our house points now!”
Harry scowled at her, before running across the green and arriving next to the headmaster.
“It’s not their fault, professor, they only came out here to apologise to each other where nobody else could see.” Harry explained.
Professor Dumbledore turned around.
“They will not be punished as I knew this would happen.”
Ron, Harry and Hermione’s mouths dropped open.
“How?” Ron asked, confused.
“I told Miss Tonks that this would be the best time and place to apologise to Mr Weasley, as she came and told me all about what she had agreed to and how bad she had been feeling. I had merely come to see if it had gone to plan. Oh, and Miss Granger, we shan’t deduct any house points this time.” He smiled widely at them all. “Goodnight children”
Dumbledore turned and returned to the castle. The group of students followed afterwards.
“So is everything ok?” Harry asked, nervously.
“Yes, thank you Harry,” Rachel began “Everything is ok now”
She turned and smiled at Ron, who blushed profusely.
“Were lucky we didn’t loose any house points!” Hermione pointed out “ You could’ve lost us the house cup.”
Rachel turned to her.
“Life doesn’t revolve around studying and how well you do, It’s the effort that counts.” She said, smiling.
Hermione pouted and walked further ahead, in front of everyone else.
"Soooo..." Harry said cheekily "What did you to get up to?"
"Nothing" Ron said, trying not to blush.
"Just wait until Fred and George hear about this!" Harry teased.
When they finally arrived at the commonroom, Hermione ran over and went straight in.
"She's a one." Ron said annoyed.
"Night guys!" Rachel said, skipping upstairs to bed.
