Ron was bored. There was nothing else to do. So he grabbed his ipod, his jacket and set out around the school. Where was everyone?

Hermione was sat reading a new book that she had just borrowed from the library.
She glanced up and saw Ron wandering aimlessly around the grounds.
She returned to her book and decided that she would not make the effort to speak to him, as she was so immersed in her book.

Ron looked around, there was nobody but Hermione. He walked over, grinning.
"Yo," he said, pulling his ipod earphones out.
"What are you doing?" he asked.

Hermione lifted her eyes from her book and heaved an exasperated sigh.
"What does is look like, Ronald?" she asked, "I am reading. Something you really should do more of."

"Erm, Sorry Hermy," He laughed at himself
Why am I shortening eveything? He thought.
"Shall I leave you alone?" He asked, taking a few steps backwards.

She slipped a bookmark into her book and rested it on her lap.

Knowing he was going to loose, he sat down and twidled his thumbs.
"So..." Ron began, "How's it going?"

This is one of the politest conversations we've ever had, He thought, I wonder how long it will last?
"Found anything interesting in that book of yours then? How to kill a troll?" He asked, clearly having no idea what he was actually saying.

"How to kill a troll?" she quizzed, "I'm not reading a comic book, Ronal--Ron."
She made an effort not to continue in her habit of calling him by his full first name as she knew that it really annoyed him.

Ron smiled as he heard Hermione try not to call him Ronald. It was nice that she was trying.
"I guess so," He laughed.
Smile Ron, Smile, Girls love it, He thought to himself, But then again, Hermione isn't like other girls, and I'm certainly not like other boys, I'm just her dorky best friend, along with Harry, who's obviously the cool one.
It was obvious that Ron was thinking about such a topic; he looked just like someone sucking on a sour lemon.

"Wha-What?" Ron mumbled, breaking his line of thought, "Oh, nothing,"
Merlins Beard! Hermione Granger is confused! Ron thought, I'm so great, I made her confused.
He contemplated doing a little dance in triumph but decided against it.
Thank Merlin that she doesn't know what I was thinking, Ron told himself.

She frowned again.
"Are you sure?" she asked, "You are acting a little...strange."
She then realised what she had just said.
"Not that I should be at all surprised by that," she smiled.

Ron laughed, and grinned.
She doesn't know! I knew she wasn't a mind reader. Ron thought.
"What you thinking about?" Ron asked her.
Maybe you, a little voice whispered quietly to him. Ron laughed openly at the thought of it, before realising by now he probably looked mentally unstable.
